translated in many languages and the majority of all acupuncturists in the United States use this book as a primary reference. Michael moved to New York in 2000 to work in a multidisciplinary clinic. In 2 years, he treated over 800 patients, many of who had neck, back, and extremity sprain/strain injuries due to trauma from automobile accidents. He also treated various other conditions such as sciatica, post-operation pain, stress, insomnia, headaches, anxiety, hypertension, depression, and other emotional problems, weight control, indigestion, sinusitis, allergies, and women’s health, etc. Michael is also very interested in the treatment of lower extremity conditions. Since 1998, he has been traveling around the country as one of the best shoe / hiking boot fitters in the industry, teaching retail employees, dealers, representatives, and medical professionals about biomechanics, orthoses, modification, and other more professional fit techniques to provide better comfort and health. Michael believes that illness (including infertility) is due to an imbalance of Qi (pronounced "chee") in the meridians and organ systems, and the body needs balance in order to be healthy. He has witnessed many imbalances reversed in many of the infertility patients he has treated over the years, with the use of acupuncture, herbs and basic dietary changes. Even patients working on other chief complaints, have the surprising “side effect” of becoming pregnant during their treatments because of this rebalancing that occurs. In his free time, Michael enjoys mountain biking, snow skiing, backpacking, stunt kiting, and other outdoors activities, as well as swing (Lindy Hop) dancing.
